Etihad Airways to Resume Flights to Nairobi Starting December 15
UAE’s Etihad Airways was to resume flights to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport back in May but canceled the plans last minute. The airline stopped operations to Nairobi back in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Etihad has announced that it will resume operations to Nairobi starting December 15th 2024. The airline has announced that seats are now on sale. A spot check by Executuve Afrcan Traveller shows the rates for the Etihad flight from Nairobi to Abu Dhabi (EY 768) on December 17th start at $325 (at least Ksh 42,000) for Economy class and $1,292 for Business class. An Emirates flight on the same day from Nairobi to Dubai will cost you at least ksh 43,000.
Etihad plans to fly the Airbus A320 4 times a week nonstop from Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) with flight EY 767/768.
Speaking on this Lena Havia, Etihad’s Vice-President Network and Scheduling, said, “We are pleased to resume flights between Abu Dhabi and Nairobi this winter. We are grateful to the Kenyan and UAE authorities for the authorization to resume flights and thank our passengers who are eager to use this popular route for their patience.”

The Etihad EY 767 flight from Zayed International Airport to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport departs Abu Dhabi at 09:15 local time and arives in Nairobi at 13:40. This is a couple of hours before the first Emirates flight lands in Nairobi. The flight time is 5 hours 25 minutes.

The Emirates EY 767 flight from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Zayed International Airport departs Nairobi at 18:20 and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 00:20.
