Kenya Airways to Start Direct Flights to Gatwick Airport in July 2025
Kenya Airways has announced it will start operating direct flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi to London’s Gatwick Airport (LGW). This will be in addition to the current Nairobi to London Heathrow (LHR) route.
The Kenya airways (KQ) flights from Gatwick will operate 3 times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. With these 3 additional flights, the total number of flights from Nairobi to London will increase to 10 per week. This is a positive step for KQ as it will be able to serve a bigger base flying to Britain’s capital.

KQ hasn’t shared the details of the flight it will be operating on this route. the current route to London is served by the Boeing 787-7 aircraft. This is the same flight expected to serve the Gatwick route.
Speaking on the announcement of this new route Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO said that it is part of KQ’s route expansion strategy and offers convenience for customers. He also hinted at the potential for further expansion, stating that ‘this is just the beginning of our expansion plans for the UK market ‘.

We are excited to add Gatwick Airport to our expansive network as it means that KQ guests now have more options in and out of the UK and a convenient schedule that suits their travel preferences.” said Mr Kilavuka.
Located in West Sussex, England, Gatwick Airport is situated 47.5 kilometers south of Central London, making it a convenient gateway for travelers from the Southeast and South of England. Passengers traveling from Gatwick will enjoy seamless connections to Kenya Airways’ extensive network via its hub in Nairobi.
