Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways Strengthen Partnership with Codeshare Expansion Covering 19 Destinations
Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced an expanded partnership that introduces codeshare flights to 19 destinations. This move is designed to enhance connectivity across Africa, Asia and the Middle East for both leisure and business travellers.
Kenya Airways customers can now book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha, as well as onward connections to 10 destinations. Conversely, Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to eight destinations within Kenya Airways’ African network via three daily flights between Doha and Nairobi.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori hailed the partnership’s rapid progress, saying:
“We are pleased with the significant progress made in just a few months since the partnership initiated with Kenya Airways. This enhancement strengthens our presence in Kenya and across the African continent. The addition of Qatar Airways’ third daily flight to Nairobi is another cornerstone of this partnership, driven by strong demand for reliable and seamless connectivity.”
Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu added:
“We are excited to embark on this new chapter with Qatar Airways. This partnership enhances connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia—expanding our flight offerings and opening up a world of new destinations for our customers. For Qatar Airways passengers, the codeshare expansion opens access to some of Africa’s key business and leisure destinations, including:
- Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire)
- Accra (Ghana)
- Addis Ababa (Ethiopia)
- Lilongwe (Malawi)
- Livingstone (Zambia)
- Juba (South Sudan)
- Nampula (Mozambique)
- Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)
For Kenya Airways customers, the partnership unlocks access to 10 international destinations through Doha, including:
- Bahrain
- Colombo (Sri Lanka)
- Dhaka (Bangladesh)
- Islamabad and Karachi (Pakistan)
- Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
- Malé (Maldives)
- Muscat (Oman)
- Singapore
- Tokyo Narita (Japan)
